Is there an equivalent 21 speed rear derailleur?

I need a replacement for a shimano rd-tz30 21 speed rear derailleur for my bicycle, but can’t find one online. Is there an equivalent derailleur that would work? Thanks

You need to know whether you want a direct (frame) mount or hanger mount derailleur. Other than that, any decent modern unit will work for you. There is really no such thing as a 7 speed (21) or 10 speed rear derailleur. I know they are denominated as such, but all modern rear derailleurs will cover the same movement range, whether you have 5 cogs in the rear or 11. The indexing, if you have it, comes from the shifters.

Because you have a triple in front (7 x 3 = 21) you will need a long cage derailleur in either variety. This is a function of the greater chain slack that is inherent in triple crank setups.

Hanger mount is the style on the lowest end bikes, and the ear shaped hanger is a part of the derailleur. On direct mount, the hanger is a part of (or already bolted to) the rear dropouts of the bike. I’ve posted a link to a picture of a hanger mount below so you can determine what you have.
